The music is rooted in the typical d.c. sound, bands like Fuagzi you know… Noisy, dodgy posthardcore kinda music with many rhythmic breaks and little repetition. No verse chorus verse here. All midtempo and with catchy guitars. Good sound and good production. I don’t like the vocals too much but this is more a question of taste I think because I’d never say they were bad either.

It is really sad that the lyrics are not included in the booklet. There is only short annotations to each song and one of them saying (in german) that “the old man understood only after the skyscraper had made room for the sun, terrorism also means 24/7 commercial spots on public places, no escape from the iron four I’s” makes me really wonder what they want to say. To me this sounds somehow like an allusion to the 9/11 terrorist attacks that is somehow plays them down by saying commercial spots were terrorist, too. If I got that one right than I can’t but strongly disagree. Blaming the US for 9/11 is like blaming Jews for anti-Semitism and playing down several thousand deaths is too much of cynism… But if I got it wrong it just underlines that they should have printed the lyrics. Maybe you could put them on your website?

Apart from this point the record is pretty fine. Can’t say anything bad about it and I like the interludes. On the other hand it doesn’t rep me from the stool either. Still I think that many people might really like this, so you’d best check it out yourselves on the band’s website where there is some audio files and a possibility to order the cd directly.  [jan]
