Usually I dig what Altin Village releases but this tour 7” by Parts & Labor doesn’t touch me at all. The info labels them as experimental rock/noise rock but to me it rather sounds like 1980s gothic rock or batcave even with a post Y2K production sound.
One song is a straight, dark rock song while the flipside features a slow something laden with synth organs and vocals with an incredible amount of reverb. It’s not bad. That’s not what I want to say. It’s just not good, either. I don’t sense any emotion in it. Neither can I dance to it. Nor is it incredibly weird and inspiring. It just bores me and I would never listen to it at my own free will. I hope others will. Because the artwork is beautiful and Altin Village is a good label.
