The Dance Inc.
The Dance Inc.
all is lost - 12"
audiolith
I can’t help myself. I like Audiolith and I take to The Dance Inc. but somehow there music just doesn’t strike me. It is well done no question but for me it is too clinical, too sterile.

Do you know the Abaco in Stockelsdorf near Lübeck? If not: Don’t fucking go there! I was there once with my first girlfriend and on the smaller dancefloor there were middle aged couples model moustache meets perm dancing discofox and this is a bit the feeling that I get from The Dance Inc. I know that is a hard comparison and quite unfair but hey, I’m only human or partly human or whatever, too… I think the thing that I don’t like are the vocals. I’d call them overpointed and affected, sorry… It reminds me on the bad side of the 80s, the one that is not featured in all this retro hype, the one that you can witness late night at the reruns of third program youth broadcast or the “stars” on that show Hape Kerkeling did when he started.

Well, to be fair I must admit that the third song “all is lost” is really good and quite a floorfiller with an excellent synth bassline electric guitar whatever. I think in a club I’d dance to this. Even the vocals that are slightly different on this track are good. But the rest: Sorry, not for me… Maybe next time… The music has its really good moments...  [jan]
