bring it - lp/cd
havoc
Rambo are back with a new album and again they hit a strike but the new record has become quite different from the first one. Where „Wall of death the system“ was thrashcore, „Bring it!“ is D-Beat. The record is much darker, much more angry but it is still an amazing blaze. It is really a damn good record, objectively spoken it is so much better than the first one in terms of sound, tightness and songwriting. The only thing that kinda sucks is the artwork, a definite step back in comparison to the first record. But I clemently ignore this because I am really impressed by the dvd that accompanies both cd and vinyl. This piece of plastic makes crystal clear that right now there are no shows like Rambo shows. The videos from shows in southeast asia, australia and the US are really over the top. The shows in Melbourne or Kuala Lumpur are so amazing. We all can still learn a lot about the vitalistic power of punk. It really gave me the shivers and made me somehow proud of being part of this worldwide punk thing. Unfortunately the rather behind the scenes than on stage feature about the euro tour does not mention the shows in Bremen and Hamburg that I attended but it gives a real good insight in what touring is about. Goddamn, I really need to hit the road again. Conclusion: Fuck yeah, this is punk! [jan]
