This record is a total cliché! This might sound like an offence but in this case it’s a big compliment!

I would bet that every riff on this record has already been used by at least one similar band and the artwork with all these punky skeletons isn’t all too new, either. But why bother? This record is so over the top focused on skateboarding. It’s just so cool. About 50% of the lyrics are about skateboarding and the rest is about surfing, drinking and being an outcast. That’s great! With 19 songs plus hidden track in twenty minutes the songs do also have the optimum length for the thrashy hardcore they play. Two songs got great female vocals and there is a lot of possibilities to shout along. The sound fits, too. Everything is very tight and the nare sounds like a tin box for asian biscuits. Good record.

The only thing that sucks about this is that it reminds me of my personal inability to skate. I can’t even ollie. I’m so lame but at least I read Boardstein. I think this makes me a cool skater, doesn’t it?  [jan]
