This band hails from Ventura in California. So far all I knew about this town came from playing Tony Hawk 2 on Playstation where one competition takes place in this town. Not quite a scientific source though… But please don’t expect California style melodic punk Epitaph style. If you are looking for references in the same geographic area you’d better go back in time to bands like Agent Orange with whom they share the darkness or Black Flag in terms of intensity (well almost…).

The guitars are roaring with a lot of leads and the vocals are reminding strongly on Planes Mistaken For Stars. The whole production is dirty and everything but polished. I like that rolling feeling in their songs and I love the intensity. Sounds like someone is really feeling what he screams while screaming. The lyrics are great and anger-driven, pending between hope and disillusion. Just like my own life… “if the christians don’t get you, the black bloc will” is a great line! Nice artwork, too, with special silver colour print. Sounds like Dead Kennedys reincarnated in the bodies of Tragedy or something… Love it!  [jan]
