Overhead Kick
Overhead Kick
purity is way apart - cd-r
d.i.y.
Overhead Kick hail from some small place near Dortmund and play pretty fast, melodic, modern, contemporary hardcore.

The info says they are still quite young and still attend school. The band with its about two years is still quite young as well. This is their first demo. Seems like they already got a new one out. Maybe I’m just too slow with my reviewing. Sorry…

The info says the lyrics are as well personal as political and they don’t like kickboxing on shows (what about overhead kickboxing? ;) ). So it’s a pity that the lyrics are nowhere to be found neither online nor on paper.

The sound is okay for a demo and all six songs are quite good. I don’t think I will remember a single line of it but they are okay. I’m not the target group, am I. To me all these bands sound alike anyway. But the last song “consequences” got a real good lead guitar in one part. Unfortunately it ends with an unfunny bad guitar rock guitar solo. Why do you fuck up the cd’s best moment with a fucked up ending? That makes me grrr… Anyway, keep having fun as long as you are still able to take hardcore halfway serious!  [jan]
