terminal life - lp/cd
vinyl junkies
How come that labels who try bet he most professional with corporate identity in their info sheets and all tend to release the most boring music? And how come in this case that there are so many mistakes and contradictions?

Track twelve got three different names here. One in the booklet, one on the back cover and one in the info. The info states that there are 50 lps in coloured vinyl and some lines further down there are suddenly 100 of them. Don’t you read your own info sheets before sending them out?!? And why is 1000 cds a limited edition? You can be lucky if you’ll ever sell all of them plus the 500 vinyls. It’s rough days in the biz and you know that just as good as I do. Maybe that is why you boast about this band named after a cider brand as if they were something super special. No, they are not. They are an average hc/punk band with average songs, an average production and a very cliché tattoo style logo.

The bagpipes on “let our enemies know” and the bar style acoustic track at the end of the album tell me they like Dropkick Murphies. That’s fine. I like roughly three songs of them as well. They also like Social Distortion and on a photo one of them is wearing a Warzone shirt. A little more Warzone would suit their music very well in my eyes. It’s all very tame and jawless. Anyway, as long as you have fun playing your music and there are a few people (maybe even 1500 of them) who like your music, I’m fine. Most of the music is completely okay, trivial but okay. The only really bad song is the Grandmaster Flash cover. Everything that makes the original classic is lacking in your version. This is even below “punk chartbusters” level. But “Dresden not l.a.” is truly a good title for a song.  [jan]
