I’ve listed to “play it to death” many times by day and by night, by sun and by rain but I don’t find no access to the mood it carries. It is melancholy and sometimes sad in an aggressive way. Feelings that I know very well. However they don’t evoke them in me. The communication is disturbed. It can’t be the sound. The record is recorded very well and sounds really good. Especially the bass sounds great. I guess I don’t get along too well with the vocals. They remind me of Eddie Vedder and I don’t like Pearl Jam very much. Now that I wrote this I think that the music reminds me on Pearl Jam as well sometimes. It does also remind me of Menfolk and something else that I can’t put my finger on. It feels very post-grunge alternative rock.

I don’t say this record is bad. I just don’t like it very much. The artwork is nice but there are no lyrics. Maybe knowing the lyrics would help getting deeper into the music. If you like intelligent alternative rock from the 90s then check it out.  [jan]
