Seven Sioux
Seven Sioux
we are not he scared people - cd
fettkakao
Seven Sioux have already been playing between 1988 and 1992 before coming back in 2005. Another sell out moneymaker reunion? I don’t think so. This one is sincere.

Their music sounds like a direct transplant from the age of Jawbreaker and Hüsker Dü. Melancholy emotional punk rock with a thoughtful tone. The very nice and cute artwork does speak the same language. Here is a bunch of people who are in it for the music. Thirteen years may have passed but true love wont die. Maybe I’m overplaying a little here. I don’t know what they would say. I only know what I think when I listen to their music which is in one word: honesty. I do really believe every word and every chord of what they play.

In a world where bands like Youth Of Today and fake Cro Mags earns themselves golden noses with reunion European tours and where people are stupid enough to fall for shit like this it feels good to see that some bands, like this one from Austria, seems to be driven by far more candid motivations. And by the way the music is solid as well. It is nothing altogether new but it has got some very nice ideas and guitars and somehow the intensity of the singer’s performance reminded me more than once of Jens Rachut. Can I make a bigger compliment?  [jan]
