If Martin Büsser would hear this he would say “this is another fine example of the contemporary american free/freak/anti folk movement.”
But unfortunately he would be half wrong by this because Vortex Rex is/are from Austria. However they play some weird and freaky kind of folk whatever that doesn’t have to hide behind bands like Dufus or Sixth Organ of Admittance. They found their own unique way and they really amaze me with all their nice ideas and their enormous diversity. One moment they remind me of David Peel, then of Velvet Underground and finally of Japanther. Really great and inspiring music. [jan]
