When Adorno and Suchi Rukara from Portugal came to Rote Flora in Hamburg on their tour they had two people in their baggage who didn’t speak Portuguese. It turned out that they were one german and one american guy who call themselves Meursault and intended to play a few songs on their acoustic guitars before the electrified bands would start.
What came then happened to be something a lot of people were blown away by. No amps, no mics. A real floor show in the middle of the room and two guy screaming like Against Me! were still on No Idea. One of the most powerful and positive live appearances I have ever witnessed. This energy is captured more or less on their demo cd-r. Five songs (one of which a cover) with a lot of esprit and feeling. Melodic vocals on a thin line between singing and screaming, subtle melodies hidden in catchy guitar harmonies. Meursault would fit perfectly into the roster of a label like Plan-It-X or into a bar in Gainesville. If there was a yitnp newcomer award these guys would be nominated.
