NoFX
NoFX
they've actually gotten worse live - 2lp/cd
fat wreck
Is there anything left to say about NoFX? If you’ve never heard of Fat Mike and his companions you missed the last 15 years of underground music as well as mainstream punkrock. Now after having sucked live in the year 1995 and releasing five more studio full-lengths since then NoFX release their second live record „they've actually gotten worse live“.

This time we get an hour of NoFX hits mixed with noises from the audience and drunken announcements by the band. The 24 songs are totally different to the „i've heard they suck live“ record: most of the them are from the second half of the NoFX history. There are also lots of rare songs from singles and alternate versions. The combination of the songs and the live feeling of a punk rock show is well done - even the recording quality couldn't be better.

Remaining is the question if we really need a live record by NoFX in the year 2007? Well I can't answer this question in general. Besides this question this is a very good live record. This is mostly an overview over the last 12 years. If you own the NoFX classics from the 90ies you probably won't find something different or new on this record except for these anti-Bush lyrics. If you are fan and own all their records you won't be disappointed by this one.

By the way: vinyl consumers get the CD version of the album as a bonus for free – awesome!  [benni]
