Imagine five kids from Münster, Germany releasing their first EP to find a label to put out their upcoming full-length later this year.
Musically it reminds me at first of arty punkrock like Q And Not U or A.M. Thawn played it in the year 2004 with the difference that Dewanto come up four years too late and their interpretation is considerably easier to consume. Two songs later the band mixes the sound up with some plain new rock influences - a risky combination. To me this band seems to be some well-behaved kids that have done their homework ambitiously. They try to play hip music, add some crazy and pretty unsubstantial lyrics and even the band photos look like how a band has to look that plays this kind of music.
Well I believe that this strategy is capable to find fans a label putting out a full record. Even I can imagine that these songs will work in the mainstream alternative disco down my street between the Beatsteaks and Rammstein. However this is no indication for good music.
