Beyond Pink are an all girl hardcore band from sweden their album is out on a polish label. I like this sort of internationality. I also like this record. The music is quite fast and beyond metal or oldschool. The influences seem to be in bands like DS13, this kind of crusty hardcore a lot of people nowadays would call punk. The lyrics are mostly in english but there's also some swedish songs. A lot of songs deal with feminist topics like machos in moshpits or boys using their guitars as extension for their dicks. I especially like the Misfits ripoff „where eagles stare“ although I don't fully understand it;) I think it deals with going to a gayclub searching for a girl and queer boys not recognizing one as a dyke and keeping one away from finding someone for the night (correct me if I'm wrong!). But I'd bet this is the first hardcore ever about this topic. So there is still new ground to discover for lyrics apart from backstabbing, circle pits and bad, bad gouvernments. Thanks for that! This is really a good hc/punk record, not overwhelming, not the reinvention of the wheel but still a good piece of vinyl with unique lyrics. I think this is best listened to in an old Volvo with a rather shitty tape deck when you and your friends are driving into the sunset for some basement show in a squat of your choice.
