Dyslextasy
Dyslextasy
live. die repeat. - cd
urban cheese
Everyone writing reviews every now and then knows this feeling. After opening your mailbox you notice a CD mailer from abroad. You don't know where it comes from exactly and have never heard of the sender. So a tension inside rises. Few seconds later you hold the typical soon-to-be-part-of-every-distros-cheopo-section CD in your hands. The artwork lets me expect strange stuff: it shows a badly painted insect on the front while the back displays a bottle of beer covered by the band name. This release looks so horrible, the quality of the music doesn't matter anymore to ensure the downward career of "live. die. repeat."

Well, back to the facts. Dyslextasy (what the hell does that mean?) were founded as three piece in Oktober 2007 and put out this debut album three(!) month later (a followup is in the works). The Seattle based band delivers us seven boring rock'n'roll songs influenced by stoner rock, garage rock and punk rock. This might be average stuff for a new local band but whether this needs to be promoted worldwide? Lyrics about topics like finding your way home or driving around with a gun to straighten some freaks out verify my rating once again. Consider this to be strange cheese or even a worst case scenario. [benni]
