Usually I am a big enemy of every combination of hardcore and metal. Or in other words I hate metalcore to death. And the Earth Crisis rip-off new school shit usually sucks ass as well (except Gather). However when metal is meeting posthardcore or the like the outcome may very well satisfy me. Especially when the outcome is as chaotic as in this case.

I still remember I once downloaded one Julith Krishun song called “he heartbeat no 20542956323” and the screamed backing ohohos gave me shivers every time I listened to the song. Now I come across this band again and they are still really impressing. They totally blow the shit away like noting. But it seems like I – or rather my taste in music – have changed. I still appreciate chaotic hardcore or mathmetal. In theory. In practice I prefer almost everything else. This record is brilliant but it gives me rather headaches than shivers.

If you are not a wimp like me go ahead and get your neck broken by this manic overkill. Frickeling posthardcore with a strong metal edge. Think of Shai Hulud without pathos but with a lot of The End and The Locust on their iPods. This record (and its awesome artwork) can easily compete with many releases of Relapse and the labels who put out this one don’t even sell ringtones on their website…  [jan]
