Eno is a duo from Switzerland consisting of drummer Ivo Münger (Mr. Willis Of Ohio) and guitarist Christian Mikolasek, and for just a duo they make a whole lot of music at the same point of time!
Postrock is appropriate label to attach here, or a little more specific: instrumental postrock based on loops and layered guitar licks backed up by very dynamic and variable drumming. The sound of the record is very transparent and light. It’s very dreamy and atmospheric. Good background music as well as good music for real, intense listening. Personally I am missing some wild, energetic outbreaks. There is a certain range of dynamics but they never lean to the extremes. I totally dig it when a band plays spherical music for minutes and minutes and then shifts to total fucking destruction mode. Even in their most extreme moments – like towards the very end of the record – Eno still have something grand and noble about them. Musically they are closer to Sigur Rós than to Envy and the like. That’s fine and sounds great. I just like it better the other way. But I also like black metal, so don't listen to me…
Maybe some vocals could be the cream topping here. If you ever want to start experimenting with guest vocalists, give me a call! ;)
