Auf los geht´s los - cd |

Benzin (fuel) simply bore me. On "Auf los geht´s los" Benzin deliver
twelve sooo ordinary songs of easy to consume tunes, strongly influenced
melodic punk guitar music with German lyrics and simple structures. Most
annoying are their unbearable by hook or crook lyrics. When Muff Potter
once sang about their ambivalent relation to their hometown the song was
called "i love fahrtwind", while Turbostaat named it "drei ecken ein
elvers". Benzin simply call their song about their hometown "stadt"
(city) and all their lyrics fit into this simple-structured scheme. These
awkward tunes don´t deter the band to put out a preposition single,
having different promotion agencies and sell their songs in an exceeding
crude digipack packaging. Amazon sells "auf los geht´s los" for 15,95
Euro. I can´t believe?! Why should anyone spend so much money for this
crappy release?! The info sheet tells me that Benzin already supported
acts like Sportfreunde Stiller, Donots or Revolverheld and participated
the final row of the "Jägermeister Rockliga". Wow! I tell you that this
is the typical release that tries to chum up with kids in their early
teens. I wish music industry could be more interested in music instead
of selling silver discs with arbitrarily content. No wonder that kids
prefer illegal downloads instead of buying their music. Why do I waste
my time with Benzin? I got better things to do...
By the way: does anyone remember this German (punk?) band Fritten &
Bier in the 90ies? Founded by VIVA moderator Nils Bokelberg Fritten &
Bier had a record called "im zeichen des armbeinmannes". This kind of
band that music industry picked up after the success of bands like Die
Toten Hosen, Die Ärzte or Abstürzende Brieftauben. Fritten & Bier were so lame but got some attention. Benzin is this year´s equivalent with
the difference that Benzin will have NO success - whether in the
underground nor in the mainstream!! [benni]
