Lagwagon
Lagwagon
I think my younger brother used to... - 12"/cd
fat wreck
I confess I listened to a whole lotta melodic punk back in the 90s. Although we used to call it melodicore or skatepunk mostly… I loved the Swedish stuff like Millencolin, No Fun At All or Satanic Surfers and I adored a lot of the whole Epitaph and Fat Wreck bands like NoFX, Bad Religion (everything before “the grey race”), No Use For A Name or Pennywise. Lagwagon somehow never ever landed on my record player or elsewhere. I had friends who listened to the band but the word never reached me. Listening to the band’s latest output I don’t really know why.

The seven songs on this one are nice, little, upbeat melodic punk gems and they will delight all those who like the band or the genre in general. Good sound, good melodies, short songs, catchy hooks. Nothing to mourn about. And the title is really funny. It makes me think of my old classmate Arne. I think he listened to Lagwagon. If he still does? I hope he is alright.  [jan]
