Das Frisbee Maul from Bamberg play some sort of rock/pop that seems to draw influences from pop punk and maybe some misunderstood hamburger schule or most probably from stuff I don’t know and that I don’t want to know. The songs aren’t catchy, they got zero style and the lyrics are bad beyond description. If the musicians didn’t look so grown up on the photo I’d bet all my money that this was a school band gone mad. They remind me a bit of Die Grätenkinder but as far as I remember they were at least ten times better… Imagine a mix of Illegal 2001 and Sportfreunde Stiller played by a Die Ärzte cover band and you might get close to the experience of listening to Das Frisbee Maul.

The only good points to mention are the yellow paper they printed the info on (it’s the new pink, you know…) and that the band isn’t all-boy. Thumbs up for that! Anyway, there seems to be an audience for this as they have several thousand friends on myspace. So, good luck. It’s still better than running around killing people. I guess…  [jan]
