Boolfight are from France but they could basically come from anywhere as there polished indie rock is just this type of indie rock that at least one or two college student bands play in every major or minor city in the western hemisphere. The info speaks of good lyrics. Then why isn’t there any lyrics sheet with the promo cd?! When they try to experiment with electronics on “let me know shit” they are really exceptionally horrible! But none of the other songs is so much better, either…
I really, really don’t know why anyone should listen to this record or go to one of their shows while there is about two hundred similar bands that are a) better and b) more original. Why are there still all those indie rock bands anyway?! Since The National’s “boxer”and Band of Horses’ “cease to begin” in 2007 there hasn’t been a single relevant indie rock record and this record is not an exception from this downward spiral. It is rather a perfect example for why this genre is so dead: because people without taste or style or message try to behave like they had it all in excess. They don’t! Go listen to punk! Or hip hop! Or Techno!
