To be honest I am not very fond of split releases. Finding a pair of bands that match each other in a way that they are neither too similar nor too different, so there might be a chance for people to really like them both seems to be a rather complicated task. Adagio 830 did a pretty good job here in my eyes.
Happiness something like queer electro emo pop. Imagine Culture Club messing around with Bright Eyes’ “digital ash in a digital urn”. I really like it. Tar… Feathers stick to their trademark weird postwhatever and I like the outcome, too. However I like Happiness a lot more. Tar.. Feathers are good but I miss the pop appeal. Happiness got pop in excess and the vocals are awesome (though I think some might call them disturbing…). Add the good artwork and coloured vinyl to the list and you got a split release worth filing into your collection.
