Patterns / Fuck U Is My Name
Patterns / Fuck U Is My Name
split - 7"
altin village
Pretty artsy artwork but what else would you expect from two bands like Patterns and Fuck U Is My Name?

Fuck U Is My name’s song plays exactly 1:42 but as far as I remember the band has never been into monumental songwriting. The song “köta” deals with dogs or it rather uses them as a metaphor. However it is funny to hear someone sing “bark bark bark”… I saw the band live once some years ago and I bought their 7”. This sounds pretty much like I remember them. Take early 80s energy and vitalism and combine it with frickeling posthardcore guitar work. Add an exalted singer and you got it.

Patterns’ song on the other side is of comparably epic proportions. Running almost fourandahalf minutes it comes along in the good old Patterns style we all love (don’t we?!). Artsy, dancy, DCy postpophardcore with more hooks than a whole ship full of damaged pirates. Good 7”.  [jan]
