Someone compared Quit Your Dayjob to Devo and this fits quite well. I mean, look at a photo of these geeks in their training suits! For those abot to nerd we salute you... The music with its mixture of dancable electronic and rudimentary rock elements is also not so far off from where Devo once were and what definitely unites them is their strange sense of humor. A 7“ with all the hits and no filling material would have been a far better record. Maybe humor is not that good a basis for music at all. But I have respect for the way these guys try to break with common genre guidelines yet in the end it is the songs that count. Ambivalent thing that is... [jan]
