Limited Express (has gone?) are one of these Japanese bands that really make you get question marks circling around your head. Their music lacks neither good hooks nor a certain groove but however it is unpop to the max. Still it is a pleasure listening to it and in another world some of the songs would surely get heavy rotation on the radio. Might this other world be Japan?!? I dunno. Never been there but their info says they are quite popular over there and their whole Australia tour was sold out and the played the famous South by Southwest festival in Austin/Texas. Is it in the end only us stupid Europeans who just don’t get the potential of this music???
I mean we can’t be too stupid. At least we like Björk over here and some even get along with P.J. Harvey, don’t they? Well, who fucking cares about the schmocks who constitute the majority. I totally dig this shit and for me this is pop music just a better pop music than the ordinary one. And if you like bands like Melt Banana, An Albatross or Sonic Youth in their weird moments than there is quite a chance you like them, too!
