Delay guitar strikes again. Lunar from Croatia are one of the bands who who seem to have pledged allegiance to Lord Delay. Their music is like a trippy trip through space and time and fits perfectly into the little boom that krautrock, instro, ambient stuff and all these drone or whatever bands seem to have right now.
Well I thought I would not like this because I don’t eat trips and I don’t smoke weed but somehow it’s quite cool to listen to it while typing stupid numbers for my master thesis into this bloody laptop. It might also go well on the headphones on one of the very, very few rainy days we got here in Hamburg. They also got nice synthies and sometimes someone comes along and sings (or did I dream that?) but mostly it’s smooth beats, delay guitars and dreamscapes. My favourites are track two with the stupid title “pizza song” (that’s actually the one with vocals…) and the last one, a funny little piece of electronica named “bee-bop”.
The artwork is a little meagre I must say. This fine piece of music would have deserved better. It doesn’t even fit the music really and I don’t think it will speak to potential customers who like music like this. It rather looks like the new edition of “russendisko”. Anyway, give it a try! [jan]
