We are getting close to a point where I don’t want to hear any more instrumental rock bands no matter great they are but fortunately this point is not reached yet because Don’t Mess With Texas are a good one. Hailing from Zagreb they are very melancholy and mostly on the quiet side of town with little outbursts that are themselves not really extreme yet intense. The skeleton of their songs is a constant (e-)piano that sucks you into their musical cosmos mercilessly while bass guitar and a very musical (in a sense of giving way more than just the beat) drummer are weaving a net of sound and noise to catch you when you lose your consciousness. As I have witnessed them live I can say that this band is really good and that they can really reproduce what they banned on plastic here. Worth checking out! [jan]
